Tile removal can often seem like a difficult task and one that you could be nervous about taking on. But there are ways to make this job simple and a lot easier than it may seem.
How To Remove Tiles:
- Tools You’ll Need:
- Safety Goggles
- Safety Gloves
- Safety Boots
- Dust Mask
- Ripper Tools Claw Pry Bar
Prep the room.
The last thing you want is to create more mess than necessary, so you need to clear the room of any furniture. Remove any skirting or baseboards as well using your pry bar. Remember to collect any nails and screws that may be on the floor before you start.
Create a start point.
Look for a spot where some wall or floor is exposed, or create one in the corner. You can do this using a hammer and your pry bar just to make a small hole.
Start to remove the tiles.
Using your hammer and pry bar, you can start to work your way through the wall of tiles. Use your pry bar as a claw or hook, gently tap the hammer on top to give it a bit more power. Once you’ve done a good portion of the wall, it’s advisable to give yourself a small break to save your wrists, as the excessive force used can lead to injury. This is also an excellent time to clear up, section by section, and air the room out a bit, as it may be full of dust.
